Michelle is a Registered Dietitian practicing as a Certified Diabetes Educator and Diabetes Outreach Case Manager in Upper River Valley area in NB.
Over the past 25 years, she has been involved with many local and national initiatives/ working groups and expert panels. She has coordinated the annual New Brunswick Professional Diabetes Conference since 2007. Michelle has also been involved in several Diabetes Canada national committees including the Professional Section Executive, National Advocacy Council and is a past Board Member. She is currently involved in the National Diabetes Canada/ CSEM Conference Planning and Missions Committee.
She has received several awards in recognition of her contributions including the Diabetes Canada Outstanding Health Care Professional Award for New Brunswick (2010 and 2020), National Diabetes Canada Diabetes Educator of the Year (2011), Canadian Certified Diabetes Educators Certification Board Award for Excellence Dedication (2012), and Diabetes Canada Volunteer of the Year (2018).
