Dr. Yi-Chun Chen (YCC) is an assistant professor at the University of Saskatchewan. Studies in her new laboratory focus on investigating the cellular and physiological mechanisms of endocrine cell adaptation during the development of metabolic diseases. Her group is particularly interested in understanding how islet peptide hormone biosynthesis, processing, and clearance are regulated, and whether defects in these processes facilitate the progression of diabetes or islet transplant failure.
