Dr. Zahedi completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering in Ohio, USA and then her MD from Univeristy of Toronto. She then went on to complete her internal medicine residency followed by endocrinology training at University of Toronto. She is an Associate Professor at UofT and currently the Medical Director of the Thyroid Program at Women's College Hospital in Toronto. In addition, she is the Program Director for fellowship program in Division of Endocrinology at University of Toronto.
Her research focuses on thryoid cancer outcomes and management and optimizing delivery of health care services. In addition, she has been involved in research in chronic disease management and focus on diabetes care in elderly. She was a member of the Diabetes Canada guidelines for the Diabetes management in elderly. As a clinician teacher, she has been involved in broad range of educational programs including undergraduate medicne, post graduate residency programs and continuing medical education for practicing physcians.
