Learning Objectives: This session will:
• Describe complications of new incretin-based obesity and diabetes therapies, with a focus on loss of skeletal muscle mass and function
• Understand the potential mechanisms underlying the loss of skeletal muscle mass and function
• Apply knowledge of therapeutic interventions, including resistance exercise and diet, to mitigate or counteract the loss of muscle mass and function for patients
• Learn practical tips to help patients who are undergoing medically-managed weight loss interventions implement lifestyle changes
